The Elk Grove High School Youth Advisory Council continues to be busy this school year.

Actualizado: 10 de abr de 2020

One of their main focuses of the school year is to address and decrease vaping among the student body at Elk Grove High School and other teens in the area.

EG YAC members provided feedback on teen vaping resource cards, which were passed out to students in the area.

On November 15th, the EG YAC held a tabling event during lunch periods at Elk Grove High School.

YAC members quizzed the student body on tobacco facts and data collected on the 2018 Illinois Youth Survey. They also have been working with the Communities Youth Services Program Leader and giving their input on how youth perceive violence.

Lastly, YAC leaders continue to plan for one of their biggest events of the year, Operation Snowball, which will be taking place February 29th, 2020. This will be their second annual event, which is a one day youth leadership program open to all EGHS students! Students have been attending trainings twice a week since October to be leaders for the youth-led event.
